A family adventure

Cowboy Kurt Boutique Western was born from a story that has the taste of a true Western legend.

In the 1970s, Kurt Hann flew to the United States without suspecting that this trip would change his life. While visiting his uncle, a costume designer for the big stars of Hollywood, he discovered a fascinating world: the fringed jackets of western heroes, the worn cowboy boots that echoed on the asphalt, and above all, that spirit of freedom inseparable from the American West.

With shining eyes and a burning heart, Kurt brought this dream of adventure back to Switzerland, eager to bring it to life. In 1982, in the heart of Geneva's vibrant Pâquis district, he opened his own shop: Cowboy Kurt.

More than just a store, Cowboy Kurt is a true gateway to the mythical West. Every pair of boots, every shirt, and every belt tells a story of wide-open spaces, cinema, and a passion for authentic America.

For over forty years, this heritage has been passed down through every garment, every accessory and every pair of boots we offer.

At Cowboy Kurt, every product has a soul: traditional boots, cowboy boots, roper boots, motorcycle boots, jeans, shirts and jackets, accompanied by unique accessories such as belts, hats, bolo ties, Native American jewelry, gloves or bags.

We meticulously select our suppliers at the largest western market in the United States, where over 750 exhibitors present their latest products to professionals from around the world each year. This allows us to offer pieces of rare authenticity, sourced from the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Australia.

The transmission of a passion

After nearly forty years of passion, Kurt passed the torch to his eldest son, Steve, so that the story could continue, stronger than ever.

“I will always remember that photo of my father at the Grand Ole Opry in 1973, wearing his fringed jacket and boots. That gift from his uncle started it all. He passed on this passion to me, and today I have the chance to continue this true theater of adventure that is Cowboy Kurt.”

Sustainable and ethical commitment

Sustainability is at the heart of our approach for at least three essential reasons:

Controlled origin

The majority of our products are manufactured entirely in the United States. This requirement guarantees complete traceability and the pride of a true Made in USA label. By favoring local manufacturers, we directly support independent workshops and limit globalized production chains.

Ancestral know-how

We work with fashion houses and workshops that perpetuate a centuries-old heritage. Each boot, each hat, each shirt is the result of expertise passed down from generation to generation. This unique craftsmanship gives our collections an authenticity and quality that are rare on the market.

Products that last

Rather than giving in to fleeting consumption, we champion the idea of owning less, but better. Our items are designed to withstand the test of time, everyday life, and adventure. At the boutique, we also assist you with their maintenance: boot repairs, hat reshaping, snap button replacements, and shirt alterations, so that your pieces continue to last season after season.
